Thank you for your interest in Gowrie NSW’s new centre Newstead, Orange, which was due to open in early 2022.

As the year draws to a close, we know you will have many questions about the next steps, and a timeline to open.

When is Newstead due to open?

Like many in the state, we have experienced some challenges during Covid, with a pause on construction and rain being contributing factors to delays.

We have a revised time-frame of May 2022 for the opening, however construction may finish earlier and we will keep communicating with you as we draw closer to construction completion.

From here on in we will be providing you with regular updates so you can come along on this exciting journey with us. 

What makes Newstead so special?

Newstead will be a place to honour children and childhood. It will be a space for your child to enjoy their early years in established gardens and a park-like environment, within walking distance to the town centre and Cook Park Botanical Gardens. 

Newstead provides us with the opportunity to breathe life into our philosophical belief that children are active participants in society and are seen and heard in the community.

Our strive for excellence

The Newstead Project team have worked together to ensure the environments reflect the very best practice in early childhood education. The renovation of Newstead honours the building’s historic features including 5 metre high ceilings, and a dining piazza in the central space of the building. This feature is a true highlight and will be a warm and inviting space for children and educators to come together and connect. 

Children will be emersed in carefully planned and beautiful inviting learning environments and program which ensure essential elements to support their learning in the early years.
